Sooooo we’re a day late on the newsletter. It’s highly likely that I thought yesterday was Thursday and today was Friday, because I’m just at that stage of summer where it’s all Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow. Sometimes, Today happens twice.
Now, let’s talk about our friend Garland.
Garland came up to New Moon Lodge in July 2001 with his wife. They were here when the Big Storm hit. The island lost several large trees, some of which damaged cabins. On the mainland, boats at our dock were flipped. Highway 621 washed out, so the barge was called up for ferry duty.
So you know that, when he pulled up to our mainland dock this year with his sons and saw big storm clouds to the north, he must’ve thought, Oh no.
Thankfully, while his stay was rainy it didn’t get boomy, and they enjoyed an excellent fishing trip. We were so happy to have him come visit us again, and hope that he [and his sons] can make the trip again soon!
[I have a bevy of fish pictures from Garland and company. If you would like to join them in July fish round up, SEND ME YOUR FISH PICTURES! Send them to newmoonlodge@tbaytel.net and we will fit them in here, on Facebook, on the bragging board, everywhere.]

In The Weather
I am despondent. One, because I can’t stream the Olympic gymnastics coverage I want to watch, but mostly because two: the Weather Network changed their website layout and now it’s so unfriendly for short and sweet weather outlooks, even on mobile!!!!, that we’ve had to pivot.
So, say hello to our new friend The Weather Forecast from…good old timeanddate.com, I suppose.
Dramatics aside, here’s our fourteen day weather outlook from July 27 to August 9. The writing is very small. I’ll be spending the next two weeks trying to find something better.
Note: temperatures are shown in Fahrenheit.

Our openings…have not changed. Here’s what we’ve got:
